Jordan Peterson is a Hack

He retired from his professorship because he self-admitted that he couldn't handle people being different from him, from his own op-ed: "The appalling ideology of diversity, inclusion and equity is demolishing education and business." I.e. classic Peterson playing the victim (the very thing he was supposedly against). [1] He has a lot of publications, but most of what published is puff or really bad. For example: He has one paper that he, falsely, and repeatedly, and with crescendo, claimed demonstrated that people that use more PC language are more authoritarian and less intelligent than those who aren't. The methodology was weak, the analysis was p-hacking, and he's expanded the meaning of the paper so much over time that if you read the paper and compared to what he's claiming it proves now you'd never be able to recognize it...he only does that because he knows you'll never read it. This study is clearly meant to demonstrate that people and political ideas that are different from his own are foolish and naive. Maps of Meaning is a meandering sesquipedalian obfuscation of Joseph Campbell and Rules to Live Your Life By is a hypocritical pile of trite nonsense when he couldn't even help himself with his benzodiazepines addition. His lectures are rife with comfortable lies that make straight white men feel heard but don't actually help. I mean, he claimed the Caduceus demonstrated the ancient Greeks knew about DNA! A pre med student could have told him they were snakes having sex. At the end of the day Jordan Peterson always been a status quo preserving misogynist. [2]

While I disagree with Andrew Tate style "manosphere" I do think progressive gender politics greatly contributed to the polarization among young people. Contemporary progressivism operates on a strict oppressor-oppressed paradigm. Whites the oppressors, POCs the oppressed. Christians the oppressors. Muslims the oppressed. Israelis the oppressors, Palestinians the oppressed. Straights the oppressors, gays the oppressed. And yes, men the oppressors, women the oppressed. That paradigm leaves no room for nuance and turns off many people, especially those who labeled "oppressors" along several of these lines, e.g. straight white men. No large number of people would be listening to "manosphere influencers" if liberal identity politics hadn't turned large number of men away by treating them with outright scorn.
